2009 Science Fiction Hall of Fame inductees

The Science Fiction Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for 2009.

Edward L. Ferman, who has edited The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction for 25 years leads the list.

Artist Michael Whelan joins Ferman and others in this year’s list. If you are not familiar with Whelan’s name and artwork, welcome to science fiction and fantasy! You’re obviously very new.

The late artist Frank R. Paul is also being inducted more than 45 years after his death. His artwork, influenced by his professional technical drawing experience, helped establish many of the classic images of science fiction and fantasy in the popular imagination.

The last inductee is Connie Willis, who has won more than a dozen Hugo and Nebula awards.
